Una reflexión acerca de la permanencia de voluntarios en proyectos educativos comunitarios. En búsqueda de la identidad colectiva en la Escuela Libre La Maestranza (Estación Central, Santiago de Chile, 2021-2023)

Resumen

El análisis se centra en el contexto postdictadura en Chile, enfocado en la modernización neoliberal, la desmovilización ciudadana y el surgimiento de escuelas populares. Destaca el surgimiento de la Escuela Libre "La Maestranza" en 2021, enfrentando desafíos como la pandemia, la rotación de voluntarios y la gestión de fondos estatales. Se resalta la importancia de la identidad colectiva en proyectos comunitarios y cómo la rotación de voluntarios impacta la cohesión. Además, se diferencia entre tipos de participación, subrayando cómo la distancia física influyó en la comprensión del entorno para construir la escuela en el barrio. Se enfatiza la importancia de co-construir la identidad y se analizan los desafíos al decidir entre financiamiento externo o autogestión, destacando la relevancia de la  participación comunitaria y la conexión con el territorio.

Abstract

The analysis focuses on the post dictatorship context in Chile, centered on neoliberal modernization, citizen demobilization and the emergence of popular schools. The emergence of the "La Maestranza" Free School in 2021 stands out, facing challenges such as the pandemic, volunteer rotation and the management of state funds. The importance of collective identity in community projects and how volunteer rotation impacts cohesion is highlighted. Furthermore, we differentiate between types of participation, calling attention to how physical distance influenced the understanding of the environment to build the school in the neighborhood. The importance of co-constructing identity is emphasized and the challenges when deciding between external financing or self-management are analyzed, highlighting the relevance of community participation and the connection with the territory.
